Coffee and Pies...Can Life Get Any Better?

F introduced me to a couple of adorable cafes over the course of the weekend. After shopping at Danielle's on Saturday afternoon we enjoyed Ham and Gruyere on Baguette with some warm frothy drinks in the sunshine at Beano, a lively hipster spot on 17th Ave. On Sunday we took a break from walking around in Calgary's Kensington neighbourhood to try out Vendome. Tucked away on a side street, it's like stepping into a Paris cafe for a moment.

Our delicious sammie.

The chilly weather on Sunday afternoon led us to seek some comfort food at the farmer's market. After sampling some delicious pies from Simple Simon's, we decided to take some home. Between beef and onion, chicken, tourtiere and shepherd's, it made for a very filling afternoon. Did I mention the deliciously sugary and featherlight macarons we had for dessert?

Busy Sunday morning at the market.

Oh Simple Simon's, I'll never forget you.

My hands down favourite flavour - salty caramel.
