Spring Beauty...Complexion Perfection

Well, apparently it's March, and "Spring" should soon be upon us, but it certainly does not feel that way here in Ottawa. Yesterday was one of those so-cold-your-eyes-water-but-you-don't-notice-until-your-lashes-freeze-together kind of days, and my girlfriends who have been ever so patiently listening to me whine and complain, know that I am riding out a case of the winter blahs.

So, I'll have to be forgiven for heading into Shopper's Drug Mart on Sunday afternoon and in a fit of Winter-induced hysteria, going on a wee bit of a cosmetics binge. I just want to feel pretty again! I don't want to look like the walking dead! Is that too much to ask???

Luckily for you Birdies, the dark cloud of my spending bender has a silver lining - new products to talk about. In an effort to create an artificial glow that will carry me through until Spring, and make me look as alive as a freshly bloomed tulip, I picked up these three products:

Revlon Photoready Airbrush

I have to say, I've never bought much from Revlon (see this recent post ). Maybe it was seeing it-girl Emma Stone's porcelain skin in the commercial, or the thought of a light-as-air poof of make up, but something about this product seduced me. I'm glad it did! This baby has a great texture and provides coverage that seems to last all day. My one complaint - I have yet to figure out how to control the dispenser...so much more product than you could ever need comes out, unless you have a giant head, or like to wear your foundation an inch thick. However, if you can apply it with a light hand (or sponge or foundation brush), this one's a keeper!

Cover Girl and Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer

 My favourite thing about this new concealer by Cover Girl, infused with Oil of Olay moisturizer, is the deliciously moisturizing texture. It makes a great base for eye shadow and I feel like it instantly makes me feel more awake.

Maybelline Dream Lumitouch concealer

This concealer, which seems to be the drug store answer to YSL's cult product, Touche Eclat, is a great budget alternative. A dab on the inner corner of my eyes and around the outer corners of my mouth seemed to reflect the light beautifully and brighten things up.
