Kathryn was up for a visit this weekend, and I always feel compelled to show my Torontonian friend the great dining that Ottawa has to offer. Saturday night we settled on Navarra, a Spanish restaurant in the Market that serves a combination of northern Spanish and Basque cuisine. What does that mean exactly? Well, for Kathryn and I it meant we got to enjoy such tasty delights as rosemary smoked salmon, artichokes saltimboca, rioja potatoes with chorizo sausage, and hand rolled ricotta gnocchi. We washed it all down a delish Grenache / Syrah wine. The whole experience felt authentically Spanish, from the warm welcoming atmosphere to the cute Latin waiters - a little taste of Spain in Ottawa.
